  1. Jean explains and makes some great points. I love that suggestion to offer to help a parent instead of judging and staring. I have done the a hand full of times the last 2 years when I recognized Asperger children and the parents were all so relieved to be understood and the offer of help. I would of loved knowing AS parents years ago, but I didn't and help very isolated and helpless at times. Do what you would like someone to do for you, if the situation were reversed! :-)

  2. I think a lot of times we as mothers think others are staring and judging, when really they are thinking with sympathy, or remembering their own children. I am sure I am guilty of it. I don't know the symptoms of autism or Asperger, but I think it is great advice to offer to help a mother with a child who is being difficult instead of standing by and wishing her the help I am not giving. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. As I have already mentioned my son is a carer for the adult autisic , it is a very demanding job but so very rewarding.
