Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009. Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?“The art of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing happiness to change its form without being disappointed by the change; happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up." ~Charles L. Morgan
"Happiness is a direction, not a place." ~Sydney J. Harris
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
- For my youngest son's Culinary trip to Chicago this week! He had a great time!
- For finalizing the deal on my house and getting a 'closing date' and just as exciting was getting a 'move in' date at the new place! I'm very happy, but so busy that I'm totally exhausted at this moment!
"There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second." ~Logan Pearsall Smith, Afterthoughts, 1931
- For some vacation days to get even more done this week and maybe even a nap today if I can find the time!! ;-)
It's also "ALOHA FRIDAY" Everyone!! If you want to join in the fun? Post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life. Then you can visit the other participants if you wish...It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends or see what people are thinking about this week and join in a conversation or two if you like.
"Pleasure is spread through the earth In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find." ~William Wordsworth, 1806My question: Where is your favorite place to take a nap?
My answer: Outside on a nice day; either in a hammock or on a warm beach... with sunscreen of course! ;-)
"Every now and then, when the world sits just right, a gentle breath of heaven fills my soul with delight..." ~Hazelmarie ‘Mattie’ Elliott, A Breath of HeavenHave a Wonderful Weekend my Friends!
Hugs and Much Love to you All,

ReplyDeleteOOH, a culinary trip to Chicago, that sounds like heaven. I just emptied a bunch of boxes and it made me think of you, I know you could use them.
ReplyDeleteMy nap... what's a nap? (HEE, HEE) Happy holiday my friend!
Jules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
at the lake on my bed, I can hear the noise of the people yet still sleep
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a closing date! I'm off this weekend for a much-needed vacation with my wife.
ReplyDeleteA Culinary trip to Chicago? How FUN!!! Does that mean he'll be cooking you dinner? ;)
ReplyDeleteNap? What's that? ;) I can never seem to take a nap - it has to be really dark for me to actually fall asleep...although relaxing on the beach usually gets me pretty close to napping... ;)
Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, Coreen! :)
"Roughing It": Camping or Motel?
Hmmm a culinary trip! That sounds exciting!
ReplyDeleteYay on the house!
My place to nap is right here on the couch :)
I can hear the hub of the house and get up in a flash if necessary.
Have a joyful weekend! :)
On a float in my pool :)

I just love my bed...my warm comfy bed
ReplyDeleteThat would have to be my very own bed in our bedroom! Too scared to sleep outside, something could bite or crawl on me!!
ReplyDeleteI hate taking naps in the daytime... Makes me groggy -- I feel worse after I get up... BUT---if I'm sitting in my recliner and can take a short 5-10 minute Power Nap, that is wonderful... For actual sleeping though, I love my wonderful bed.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Coreen, and I'm so glad about your home situation.
Hugs,
Betsy
For some reason I love napping on the couch. I get some of my best sleep then and there!
ReplyDeleteI have a little day bed in the corner of the living room by some large picture windows. This is my fav place to take a nap!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh! Think I will head there now! Ha!
Hugs
SueAnn
I didn't do HFF yesterday but I did today.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comment about my father.
Congrats on selling the house and moving! Such exciting news!
I never nap! Bad, I know....just too much to do and too full of caffeine! haha.
ReplyDeleteLove the happy list. Hope the move goes smoothly!
