Moving On with Your Life

"You are responsible for your life. You can't keep blaming somebody else for your dysfunction. Life is really about moving on." ~Oprah Winfrey

"To be able to move on, one has to learn to forgive not only the person (or people) who have done one wrong but also oneself." ~Eugenia Tripputi
Like everyone else, I've made numerous mistakes in my life.  I've let people get to me, take advantage of me, and I accepted way less than I deserved both in treatment and respect.
However, I've learned from each of those experiences, including the bad choices that I've made... but learned from.  Mostly because I have taken responsibility for my actions and my own life, instead of making excuses or blame someone else (at least I try not to).
So even though there are some things I can never get back and people who will never be sorry, I will know better next time to be more cautious.  With my recent move I have made a vow to myself, that from now on I will not settle for anything less than what I deserve in both life and love.  To me, that is truly moving on with your life. :-)

Half Full and Aloha Friday Question

“Happiness always looks small while you hold it in your hands, but let it go, and you learn at once how big and precious it is.” ~Maxim Gorky
Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009.  Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?
“A 'fresh start' attitude can bring inspiration, personal growth, love and happiness into your life." ~Me

For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.

I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
  • For more vacation days and starting to Move this week! :-)
  • For the buyer fixing things on the house so we can close soon!!
  • For ALL the birthday wishes last week & talking to all 3 of my sons!  I was very touched..  Thank you everyone!!
"You may have a fresh start any moment you choose." ~ Mary Pickford
It's also "ALOHA FRIDAY" Everyone!!  If you want to join in the fun? Post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life. Then you can visit the other participants if you wish...It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends or see what people are thinking about this week and join in a conversation or two if you like.
I watch out my window as the planes take off into space. Oh, that I could fly away and start fresh. But I must realize that fresh starts also come in the pretty wrapped gift called 'tomorrow.' ~ unknown
My question:  How do you get a fresh start?

My answer:  I believe it is from letting go of guilt and/or resentment, giving us a new attitude and even renewed enthusiasm about life. Although a positive atmosphere can help too. ;-)
“I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning...” ~ Joseph Priestley
I will be back as soon as I'm completely moved.
Have a Wonderful weekend, everyone!!

Everyone Needs Someone

sayingimages.com

Everyone Needs Someone

People need people and friends need friends
And we all need love for a full life depends
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldly fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-
For only the knowledge that we're understood
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed
The outstretched hand reaching to find
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind
Are lonely and longing to somehow share
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware
That life's completeness and richness depends
On the things we share with our loved ones and friends.

I'm here if You need Me

"Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half a sorrow." --Swedish Proverb

I'm Here If You Need Me ~ by: Pam Fraser

Life's events don't always happen,
Just as they are planned.
For you this is a trying time,
I fully understand.
Moments like the present,
Tend to upset and confuse,
I'll try to give you my support,
In any path you choose.
I'll listen always with my heart,
I'll do what I can do,
I'll hope for brighter things to come.
My thoughts remain with you.
You know your situation.
You're alert to life's demands;
But don't forget I am here.
I'm one who understands!

I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
  • For the pain and emptiness from missing my oldest son and his precious dog :-) getting better each day.  Also happy that he calls on the weekend. :-)
  • For those trying to save the town I both work in and am moving too soon, from flooding.  The community is coming out and working together!!
  • For getting to talk to a good friend last week.  One of the few people I trust in this area.  I had a wonderful 'warm' feeling for the rest of the day and weekend.  We should talk more often. ;-)

"Now is right on time"

"Your journey has molded you for your greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don't think that you've lost time. There is no short-cutting to life. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time." — Asha Tyson

Time and Heart

Countless lifetimes, carrying joy and sorrow both...
How many dawns have greeted my eyes,
Thoughts remained wordless inside?
Seeing something of our tomorrows,
Standing at the threshold, here,
Between shores of old
And the rise of new beginnings...

Destined journeys, myriads of possibilities,
Countless worlds and beings await.
To carry them into the new cosmos?
Time and heart will tell...

Prayer for my Friends...

”The true friend is the one who’s coming in the door while everyone else is going out. Friends are the ones who love you when you’re hard to love, stand by you when it’s not the popular thing to do and are there for you when you need it, even if it means they don’t get anything back.” ~ Author unknown

Prayer for my Friends
I will pray for you, my friend.
I will name you in my heart before God and ask all His blessing be upon you.
I will be concerned for your safety and your daily mood.
I will be sympathetic to your personal needs and desires in each day of your life.
I will wish you well in your learning, or your work, in your domestic round and your happiness.
I will think of you at the close of each day and pray that God’s peace be with you.

If you have been especially kind or helpful to me then I will make my gratitude known to you.
If you are in trouble or difficulty of any kind, or simply tired and worn down, I will do all and anything I can to lift your spirits.
I will ache for you in your sorrows and disasters and rejoice with you in your joys and triumphs.
I will love and care for you as I love and care for myself.

Half Full and Aloha Friday Question of the Week

"The pursuit of happiness requires a lot of courage. We strive for happiness in various ways: through professional and personal achievement, through love and friendship, and also through charitable effort. But to find happiness, we must first be at peace with ourselves. We must be more forgiving of our follies and appreciative of our abilities."

"Yes, stress messes with your life. It messes with mine. However, that’s when you have to fight back. Fight back with everything you got. Get mad, then get even by finding a little bit a joy in the midst of your stress."
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.

I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
  • For my oldest Son arriving SAFELY in his new home, to start his new life.  I already miss him and that sweet Ms. Pickles. 'sigh'  The goodbyes were so much harder than I ever imagined... so 'tears were rolling' and 2 days later I'm still looking for that dog when I come home after work and get up in the morning. :-/
  • For those trying to save the deal on my house!  Long story...  but I could end up with 2 homes or homeless, if the deals or timing don't work out just right.  So please keep praying for us! :-)
  • For keeping my Faith and Hope during a heart wrenching and stressful week.  Chicago winters and Houston summers are looking better all the time.  Well... maybe. ;-)
"It’s possible to forget how alive we really are. We can become dry and tired, just existing, instead of really living. We need to remind ourselves of the juice of life, and make that a habit. Find those places inside that jump for joy, and do things." ~ Anonymous

"Worry doesn’t help tomorrow’s troubles, but it does ruin today’s happiness."~ Anonymous
My question:  Do you worry about something only to realize later that it wasn't worth worrying about?

My answer:   I was worried, even down, about my son leaving and my house situation, Until  I turned on the news and was reminded about Joplin MO and the flooding in my own area.

Prayers for your Safe Travel and Protection

Dear God, may your angels guard and protect you; keeping you safe all the way that you must travel.  In times of purest joy or pain and fear, God's Angels guard and keep you safe. Amen.
http://www.foto.com/
God Grant you Protection
Grant, O Lord, Thy protection
And in protection, strength
And in strength, understanding
And in understanding, knowledge
And in knowledge, the knowledge of justice
And in the knowledge of justice, the love of it
And in the love of it, the love of all existences
And in that love, the love of spirit and all creation.
Amen.
