More Random Tuesday Thoughts...

"Random thoughts are received with no context for it, no pre-conceived notions or bias." ~unknown

Just so you know... I'm confused this week
... but I know the answers are out there.

Just so you know... I'm missing some information
... but I know I will figure it all out soon.

Just so you know... It's time to know the truth
... it will help me understand and find direction.

Just so you know... there are Good Souls
... they are Angels whom walk among us.

Just so you know... I get through changes easier
... when I have a trusted friend to talk to.

Just so you know... I've finally found my own voice
... I speak my mind and heart more easily than ever.

Just so you know... I hear the gossip and comments
... however I prefer to ignore it and let things go.

Just so you know... I know more than you think
... and understand more than you know. ;-)

HAPPY TUESDAY!!! :-)

Rolling with the Punches...

"Happy people roll with the punches.  They know from experience that everything changes.  Today's good fortune may vanish tomorrow, today's crises may turn out to be tomorrow's good fortune." ~unknown
podpeep.blogspot.com
Sometimes in life you just have to Roll with the Punches, even when the punches feel like they are coming from a pro boxer... and yes, there is a connection.

The phrase Roll with the Punches originally comes from the technique used in boxing.  The objective is to avoid receiving a direct hit with solid contact.  The technique is to move away from the punch in an attempt to avoid the blow or at least create a glancing blow. A glancing blow being preferable to a direct hit.  Today is means to "Weather through tough times, try to minimize the trouble."

It can be hard to not get upset or flustered when things start to go wrong and times get rough.  But when the rough and tumble comes, some people are much better at just getting on with it, plugging away and in short, rolling with the punches.

In boxing those who take the punches as well as possible, rather than avoiding them completely, can apparently actually do better in boxing than those who always do everything they can to avoid any punches, and so the phrase of rolling with the punches for anyone who takes what life throws at them, no pun intended.

I realized after a conversation with a new friend recently, that I indeed have learned to roll with the punches.  Taking the punches many times, instead of trying to always avoid them, and becoming stronger and wiser as a result.

How about you?  Can you think of times where you've 'rolled with the punches' and became stronger, wiser or a better person over all?
"You've got to roll with the punches to get to what's real" -Van Halen

Half Full & Aloha Friday Question!

"The more we express our gratitude to God for our blessings, the more he will bring to our mind.. other blessings.  The more we are aware of to be grateful for, ther happier we become." !Ezra Taft Benson
Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009.  Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!

"Thanksgiving is the holiday of peace, the celebration of work and the simple life... a true folk-festival that speaks the poetry of the turn of the seasons, the beauty of seed-time and harvest, the ripe product of the year - and the deep, deep connection of all these things with God." ~Ray Stannard baker (David Grayson)

More Random Tuesday Thoughts...

"Random thoughts are received with no context for it, no pre-conceived notions or bias." ~unknown
http://diyphotography.net
Just so you know... I've been waking up early lately
... way before my alarm, but I think I know why.

Just so you know... I feel at peace right now
... even though there is still so much for me to do.

Just so you know... doctors are just people
... they are not God and they are just human.

Just so you know... everyone has an opinion
... we have to remember it's just their opinion.

Just so you know... I don't trust people who gossip
... I know how it can hurt people and destroy lives.

Just so you know... I'm still naive at times
... I assume people have the same character & heart.

Just so you know... I know I make mistakes
... however my heart is truly in the right place.

Just so you know... I miss a special friend
... and I hope we can talk soon. ;-)

HAPPY TUESDAY!!! :-)

When Someone Listens

"A friend is someone who listens when you speak, understands when you cry and guides you on your way." ~Thomas Eappen
When someone deeply listens to you
it is like holding out a dented cup
you've had since childhood
and watching it fill up with
cold, fresh water.
When it balances on top of the brim,
you are understood.
When it overflows and touches your skin,
you are loved.

When someone deeply listens to you
the room where you stay
starts a new life
and the place where you wrote
your first poem
begins to glow in your mind's eye.
It is as if gold has been discovered!

When someone deeply listens to you
your barefeet are on the earth
and a beloved land that seemed distant
is now at home within you
.

Half Full & Aloha Friday Question!

"Experiencing Divine Happiness depends completely on the belief, thinking process, and understanding of an individual. Divine Happiness can be experienced by truly desiring it. It comes from within, when we understand its true meaning and worth." ~Happiness.com

"Divine happiness, even the tiniest particle of a grain of it, never leaves one again; and when one attains to the essence of things and finds one's Self--this is supreme happiness. When it is found, nothing else remains to be found; the sense of want will not awaken anymore, and the heart's torment will be stilled forever. Do not be satisfied with fragmentary happiness, which is invariably interrupted by shocks and blows of fate; but become complete, and having attained to perfection, be YOURSELF."  ~Sri Anandamayi Ma

  • For amazing conversations this week.
  • For weekend plans with a friend.
  • For helping someone with my blog.
  • For the buck that walked right up to me!!
  • For getting my replacement Iphone.
  • For having a goal of Divine Happiness!!

"There's a reason for everything and everything has its divine time" ~anonymous
My question:  Why do you think certain people keep go in and out of your life at times?

My answer:  I think that they are going through a process and figuring things out in their own way and in divine timing.  We all need that process to grow and heal; before we can figure out who we are; what we need and finally... what we want.
"Divine Timing is the idea that everything happens at its exact right time.  I like to think of it as the time it takes from when I receive an epiphany or inspired thought of where I should go next in my life, to when this thought is manifested into reality." ~The Process of Divine Timing @ SelfGrowth.com

The Purpose of Life is to Live It

Remembering Lifes Purpose

"We each have an important role to fulfill during this journey we call life. The things we absorb along the way can sometimes leave us feeling overwhelmed, confused, and not sure which direction to follow. Recall, Reclaim, and begin working toward fulfilling the purpose for which you were sent and you will find new meaning, joy, fulfillment, and a sense of deep inner peace in each and every area of your life."  ~by Chuck Danes

Empty Nest again...

examiner.com
Well.. almost a completely empty nest again.  I had a wonderful week with my 2 oldest sons visiting from Houston and Chicago.  They came home for 2 friends' wedding that was held yesterday... on 11/11/11, as well as for all the 'events' and festivities that were held earlier in the week.

The week went way too fast of course, but it was very nice just the same.  This was the first time either had been back since I moved to my new place.  They loved it almost as much as I do.  And we all know how much that is.. right?!  ;-)

My oldest son brought his dog with him; which was an extra special treat for me.  Most of you remember that I had 'custody' of sweet Miss Pickles, the chocolate lab from Louisiana, for 3 years while my son was in grad school.

She remembered me after about 5 seconds and was very excited as usual about people in general and absolutely any attention.  I was a little worried about her and the deer, however she was very well behaved and neither the deer nor Miss Pickles seemed very concerned with each other.  That was a relief.

My youngest son always likes when his brothers are around and he was able to show them his new job and tell them all about his responsibilities as a kitchen manager.  We are all very proud and happy for him!!

Now it is Saturday evening and both of my older sons are on the roads back to their homes and jobs.  It was a little bitter sweet as I won't get to see at least one of them over the holidays.  I'm hoping to be able to visit one over Christmas or New Years.  Just depends on the driving weather and my new job.

Holidays can be hard on me; some years more than others.  And it's not really about the boys as much as my having the 'hope' and 'faith' of finding the right person for me to share those times with 'each' year that goes by.  Now don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my life in regards to who I am and how I live my life.  It would just be more 'complete' with someone special. ;-)

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, Everyone!!
Hugs and Blessings,

Just so you know... my new Iphone died last weekend

... I'm very excited and happy.

Just so you know... I miss a certain blog visitor :)
... I hope they come back soon. ;-)

Just so you know... I know what I want
... and I'm not going to settle for less.

Just so you know... I'm stronger than you think

Just so you know... I'm not like anyone you've ever met
... and I mean that in a good way. ;-)

Just so you know... I love where I live
... the deer outside is my favorite view!

Love too is a Process...

"The process of true love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image... Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them." ~unknown
sayangkutakakanpudar.blogspot.com

Love is... a dynamic process of discovery, a journey, not an arrival.
It is a process in which the love can grow stronger with time.
Love is to understand and care for the other person, more everyday.
It is a life's work requiring trust and respect for one another, thought and effort. In love, being the right person is as important as finding the right person.
Love means learning to share,
learning to give and receive love generously;
learning to be open, honest and understanding, and
learning to search for the good and the beautiful in yourself and them.
"Perhaps love is the process of my leading you gently back to yourself." ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Half Full & Aloha Friday Question!

"When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds:  Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world.  Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be." ~Patanjali

My question:  What is your advice on Healing faster, either your body or mind?

My answer:  Mine is to take every opportunity to relax and allow our bodies to heal.  I also believe that listening to upbeat, vibrational music keeps our spirits and energy up; helping us to heal faster.

My poor feet....

Feet up and iced!
I had my double foot surgery yesterday.  Had to have them done together.. for insurance reasons; but in all reality, they never would have gotten me to go back a second time. :-)  I was too busy the past week to be scared... until yesterday morning after my ride left and I was alone getting ready for surgery.  I started shaking and then, as usual when I'm nervous, I started talking.  So once again, I made lots of friends through out the day! :-)

The adventure home was first trying to keep my feet dry, because it SNOWED while I was at the surgery center.  Then almost falling out of the wheelchair trying to get into the car.. wow.  The nurse thought I laughed because I was a little loopy... nope!  Things like that happen all the time to me and I always laugh at my daily mishaps.  It's much better than crying or getting upset. :-)

On the way to the pharmacy for much needed meds; I was treated for ice cream.  As my 4 year old niece said on the channel 6 news last Friday 'video link here'... Yum!! :-)

I was going to stay on the love seat in my living room, keeping my feet up and iced is easier there.  Until a Hugh raccoon came up to the patio door  around 11pm and stared at me for a very long time.  He or she freaked me out a little, so I finally went to my own bed and got some sleep, thank goodness.

Today I am back on the love seat and watching the birds, squirrels and deer out my patio door.  Living in such a beautiful and peaceful place will surely help me heal even faster.  I so love my new home!!
Young Buck
It's hard for me to stay inside and not be running around busy most of the day; however I have lots to keep me occupied until I go to the doctor on Monday morning and then back to work.

I have my laptop which I love even 2 years later; and the new Iphone 4s to play with.   I just got it a week ago.  I've never had a 'smart' phone before so this is super cool to me.

Have any of you had partial joint replacement surgery in your feet, or any where else?  I'd love to hear your stories and recovery advice.
