Random Thoughts... with no one person in mind.

"Random thoughts are received with no context for it, no per-conceived notions or bias." ~unknown

Just so you know... there are times
... when all you can do is blog. :-)

Just so you know... I blogged less
... I lost my inspiration/muse for a time.

Just so you know... I believe my blog
... gives strength and hope to many.

Just so you know... I often write
... when someone is on my heart.

Just so you know... my Intuition & Heart
... are what I follow the most.

Just so you know... I always pray
... for those on my heart.

Just so you know... coincidences
... are really signs from God.

Just so you know... I believe
... the signs are his directions.

Just so you know... I know
... some ignore the signs until it's too late.

Just so you know... I wonder
... where their family and friends are.

Just so you know... I wish they would help
... break the cycle of drama and manipulation.

Just so you know... enabling
... doesn't help anyone in the long run.

Just so you know... finding peace
... is what everyone needs to be happy.

Just so you know... sometimes you need distance
... so you can see think clearly.

Just so you know... I worry
... because it will only get worse.

Just so you know... I've been there
... so I truly understand.

Just so you know... I'd reach out
... but I was warned not to.

Just so you know... reaching out I'm told
... isn't always the right thing to do... or is it just not the right time.

A Prayer for the Children

We've unfortunately seen many senseless acts of violence in our lifetime; however this most recent one is tearing at the souls of everyone even more because of so many innocent children involved.  I can't imagine losing a child... and as I see the pictures of both the children and their grieving families I can't stop the tears or the longing to ease their pain.  All I can do from here ho is Pray for the children, their families and the entire community.  I can't fathom such heartache...

A Prayer for the Children

On Friday, December 14, 2012, 20 children were killed in a shooting rampage at an elementary
school in Newtown, Connecticut. Seven adults, including the gunman, also died at the scene. As
the families and friends of the deceased mourn the loss of their loved ones, we pray for the
children, and for all those whose lives have been affected by this tragedy.
Our hearts are broken.
Today, in the midst of holiday cheer,
we are painfully reminded of the cruelty and fragility of our lives together.
How do we live with such unimaginable grief?
How do we comfort such intolerable pain?
How do we care for each other in a world where violence seems so readily accessible?
Great comforter and protector,
We have no answers.
No words that can heal the broken heartedness we feel.
Yet you have promised to heal the broken hearted and to bind up their wounds.
We cling ardently to this assurance.
This is the world that Christ is born into;
A world bursting with broken-hearted people.
This is the world that you call us to sing, ‘Rejoice’ in.
The pain is too fresh, the wounds are too raw,
Yet still, we light the pink candle in anticipation of your fulfilled promises.
Until then,
we will continue to pray
For the parents,
For the families,
For the victims,
For the teachers,
For the first responders,
For the survivors, and
For all who have been crushed by this shooting.
We will hold them in our hearts.
We will strive to compassionately care for each other.
And, we will honor and lift-up our children,
For in them the light of Christ beams.
Amen.

Prayers for your Safe Travel and Protection

Dear God, may your angels guard and protect you; keeping you safe all the way that you must travel.  In times of purest joy or pain and fear, God's Angels guard and keep you safe. Amen.

God Grant you Protection
Grant, O Lord, Thy protection
And in protection, strength
And in strength, understanding
And in understanding, knowledge
And in knowledge, the knowledge of justice
And in the knowledge of justice, the love of it
And in the love of it, the love of all existences
And in that love, the love of spirit and all creation.
Amen.

Special Prayers in light of the Japan tragedy

googleimage.com

Wondrous God,

You created our beautiful earth, and called that creation good. You created our seas and rivers, our mountains and beaches. You tilted the earth to give us seasons of winter and spring, summer and autumn. You gave us the moon and created tides. You created this great planet that lives and breathes, and at times shudders and cracks.

Loving God, we mourn with all those who are grieving after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and across the great Pacific. We pray for those families who are still searching for loved ones. We lift up those who have been injured, those who are still lost, awaiting to be found and given aid. Help us to bring comfort and aide where we can, to extend not only our finances but our hearts. Guide us in Your wisdom in how we might best care for others, for we are Your hands and feet on this earth. We are the body of Christ. Help us to be moved with the whole body of Christ in solidarity with those who are hurting.

Gracious God, we pray for the repercussions in the aftermath of this natural tragedy; we are especially praying for all those that live near the nuclear facilities, that they might be kept out of harm’s way and that the safety measures in place will be enough to keep the people safe. We pray for those near factories and other potential sources of danger in the aftermath that they would be kept safe. We pray for all those workers and volunteers coming to aide the sick and the hurt and the bereaved that You would keep them safe, dear God.

Great Creator, You formed this beautiful earth. You blessed Your creation. We do not know why these things happen, but we do know that You are at work in the restoring of the coastline; You are at work in the softening of he waves; You are at work in the hearts of those who are giving of themselves to save others. You continue to be at work in the hearts of those who are sharing what they have and doing what they can to be Your arms in this world. May we do our part to be a blessing to others in need when disaster comes. May we always be reminded that we are Your body here on earth. May we reach out and continue to be Your hands and feet in this world. In the name of Christ, the Great Comforter, the Great Healer, the Great Restorer, we pray all things. Amen.  Special prayer by Rev. Mindi from Rev-o-lution.org

O loving Creator,

bring healing and hope to those who, at this time, grieve, suffer pain, or who have been affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

We remember those who have died and we pray for those who mourn for them.

We pray for those who may be affected as the tsunami spreads across the Pacific.

May we all be aware of Your compassion, O God, which calms our troubled hearts and shelters our anxious souls.

May we pray with humility with our troubled and struggling brothers and sisters on earth.

May we dare to hope that through the generosity of the privileged, the destitute might glimpse hope, warmth and life again.

Through our Saviour Christ who lives with us, comforts us and soothes us.   Amen.

Christmas Prayers

"May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!" ~Author Unknown
Amidst the giving of gifts, the excitement of children and the cooking of traditional dinners, it is easy to miss "the reason for the season", the birth of God's son, Jesus Christ. There are several ways of bring Jesus back into our family celebrations of Christmas, including church services. Here are a number of Christmas prayers for use at various stages of the day - these can be said by the family together, or silently in a moment aside from the rush.  For more prayers check out this website:  Prayer Guide.org

A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson
Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith;
the warmth of Christmas, which is love;
the radiance of Christmas, which is purity;
the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice;
the belief in Christmas, which is truth;
the all of Christmas, which is Christ.

Prayer of Gratitude, Love and Compassion

What great fortune to have my basic needs and requirements met, to have clean water and food to nourish the body and to be in a place free from war and invasion.

What gratitude and love I have for Life and this precious birth, so I may enquire into the nature of existence.
May I have compassion for the suffering of others, always wishing them the best.

May all beings be free of all tendencies and restrictions of the mind, so that their suffering may end, and the peace and stillness of their true nature can shine unobstructed.

May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings be content.
May all beings be happy.
AMEN

Divine Intervention... Do you Believe?

"I believe in Divine Intervention. This is something that occurs when we pray for help. I also believe that the Creator sees the workings of our hearts. In this way our good intentions are noticed. It is always the Intention that matters." ~ Alison Stormwolf
Divine Intervention is a term for a miracle caused by God and God's active involvement in the human world.
As described in Wikipedia:  A miracle is an unexpected event attributed to divine intervention. Sometimes an event is also attributed (in part) to a miracle worker, saint, or religious leader. A miracle is sometimes thought of as a perceptible interruption of the laws of nature.
Others suggest that God may work with the laws of nature to perform what people perceive as miracles.  In casual usage, "miracle" may also refer to any unlikely yet "beneficial" occurrence, such as surviving a natural disaster or simply a "wonderful" occurrence or event, regardless of likelihood. Such as the survival of a terminal illness, escaping a life threatening situation, meeting your soul mate or 'overcoming great odds'.  Some people feel these are just coincidences.  I think it's a shame when those people can't believe in something 'higher' than themselves.   Believing in 'miracles' and 'divine intervention' gives us all Hope!
In an article titled Miracles 101 the author has this description: A miracle is the impossible made possible. Experiencing or witnessing a miracle fills people with awe and awakens faith in a Higher Power and the possibility of divine intervention.

Most people believe that God, a Creator or Higher Power, can create these events, occurrences or Miracles without our help.  However sometimes I also believe that we can ask God to create divine intervention in the lives of people we care about.... with Prayer. That is if our intentions are for the well being of others and our motives are not self serving.  I love knowing that we can Help with prayer and by sending possitive thoughts and energies to the situations and the people we care about!

I've seen the Miracle of Prayers work in my own life and in the lives of my children and friends many times.  I believe with all my heart that if we pray out of Love, miracles can happen!  There have been times in my life that that belief and Prayer.. was all I had, but it made all the difference!
"Where there is great love, there are always miracles." ~ Willa Sibert
Below is an a paragraph from an article I found that I really liked and want to share.

"God can help you when you can’t seem to help yourself.  Prayer in the form of expressing your request for help from God produces a different effect from prayer in the form of pure intention. When you make a request to God, you are literally evoking the freewill action of a being other than yourself. You give that being permission to intervene in your reality according to its will and wisdom. You can get results that you could never have obtained with your own reality creation techniques alone. This is Divine Intervention, the highest power in the universe."

First house showing!

On Saturday I got my 'Sign' in the yard and the reality that I am really doing this... hit me!  I am selling my house and moving on to the next chapter of my life.  I have no idea what's in that chapter yet, but I am so excited no matter what my next adventures are.

I have been very busy cleaning out my basement, painting, scrubbing and getting my Adorable little house ready to sell.   Last night I got a phone call from my real estate agent.  My first showing is this Thursday.  Yikes!  Needless to say I was up late doing more cleaning.

Here is my adorable little house that I have spent the last 3 years fixing up.  Oakland Iowa House  Isn't it Adorable?! :-)  I love it, but I can't take it with.  'Sigh'....

Wish me luck and Prayers are Always appreciated!  I'll let you all know how things go!
