Random Thoughts... with no one person in mind.

"Random thoughts are received with no context for it, no per-conceived notions or bias." ~unknown

Just so you know... there are times
... when all you can do is blog. :-)

Just so you know... I blogged less
... I lost my inspiration/muse for a time.

Just so you know... I believe my blog
... gives strength and hope to many.

Just so you know... I often write
... when someone is on my heart.

Just so you know... my Intuition & Heart
... are what I follow the most.

Just so you know... I always pray
... for those on my heart.

Just so you know... coincidences
... are really signs from God.

Just so you know... I believe
... the signs are his directions.

Just so you know... I know
... some ignore the signs until it's too late.

Just so you know... I wonder
... where their family and friends are.

Just so you know... I wish they would help
... break the cycle of drama and manipulation.

Just so you know... enabling
... doesn't help anyone in the long run.

Just so you know... finding peace
... is what everyone needs to be happy.

Just so you know... sometimes you need distance
... so you can see think clearly.

Just so you know... I worry
... because it will only get worse.

Just so you know... I've been there
... so I truly understand.

Just so you know... I'd reach out
... but I was warned not to.

Just so you know... reaching out I'm told
... isn't always the right thing to do... or is it just not the right time.
“You can’t always stay in your corner waiting for others to come to you.  Sometimes you have to reach out to them first and let them know someone cares.”

Christmas Gifts

"The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree:  the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other." ~Burton Hillis
evercoctail.com
The Christmas Gift Poem
It isn't the flowing ribbons,
draped and curled with extra care,
or the fine and fancy bows
tied with ornamental flair.

It isn't the label on the box,
the sum of money spent,
or anything that shows the length
to which you obviously went.

The beauty of a Christmas gift
cannot be seen at all.
For the loveliness of giving
is a feeling, grand and tall.

It's the genuine offer of love,
the yearning to make a connection,
a show of honest gratitude,
a display of sincere affection.

Why I suddenly Love Winter... just look outside!

"Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home."~Edith Sitwell
"Let Us Love Winter.  For is it the spring of genius." ~Pietro Aretino
"In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy." ~William Blake
"People don't notice whether it's winter or summer when they're happy." ~Anton Chekhov
"There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollow in snow.  It is the still ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass.  Every spire of need, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance." ~William Sharp

"Winter, a lingering season, is a time to gather golden moments, embark upon a sentimental journey, and enjoy every idle hour." ~John Boswell

Having a Pure Heart

"What is a pure heart?  A heart free of possessiveness, a heart able to feel the sorrow of others, a heart that thirsts for what is right, a heart that is not vengeful.  We see a pure heart in the face of a virtuous person."  ~wiki.answers.com
dailygrace.blogspot.com
"To have a pure heart is to reach the destination quickly. To have a pure heart means to keep the mind free from negative and waste. When there is positivity within, the mind is receptive to new ideas as it is in perfect peace. So the best is made out of the situation at hand and so it is easy to pool in all the resources in order to reach the destination. When we have a pure heart, we experience the beauty and positivity of life. We are able to keep our mind calm and enjoy everything that comes our way. Our destination is clear and we have the confidence to work towards it. We get the blessings and good wishes of those around which help us further move forward." ~Brahma Kumaris, Mt. Abu

"In my opinion, if you have a pure heart it means that you don't have selfish and/or evil intentions behind the good deeds you do.  It also means to be honest and to be happy for the good things that happen to others, not jealous or judgmental." ~Me

Life is Moving and Changing

"Change has a bad reputation in our society. But it isn't all bad — not by any means. In fact, change is necessary in life — to keep us moving ... to keep us growing ... to keep us interested . ... Imagine life without change. It would be static ... boring ... dull." ~Dr. Dennis O'Grady

Life is Moving and Changing

Life means constant change,
movements and heart beats range.
Face what comes, be flexible,
Live in peace and happiness if possible.

When you gripe and oppose,
Life still forces you down the road.
Relax; know that all works are for good,
Be wise, calm and watch your mood.

Realize that you cannot force others
to love or help you in your travels.
When you find true contentment
you'll be truly happy and independent.

Learn from the past, but have high hope
for a better tomorrow to develop.
Always be thankful, face what comes,
and your life will become adventuresome.

The real success in life is when you know
you are the one who attracts happiness or sorrow.
Learn to relax and know all works are for good,
When you believe, you'll never be misunderstood.

When you learn and accept the lessons,
life moves you forward.
With more wisdom,
Life will be joyful and complete.
When you know who you are...
you will be fearless!

ALTRUISM of LOVE AND COMPASSION

"I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed." ~Dalai Lama
rewireyourbrainforlove.com
So often we use the words above in our everyday life without really thinking about what they mean or what it would be like if all the people in the world live by them.

Let's dig deeper into the meaning of these words.

Altruism is the unselfish concern for the welfare and well being of others.  It is the active practice of love and compassion. Altruism is demonstrated in daily life by simple acts such as feeding the hungry and providing directions to a stranger in need. Altruism focuses on a motivation to help others or a want to do good a good thing, without a concern for reciprocation or reward. Altruism is related to heroism; however it lacks an element of risk to the helper. Research indicates that altruism is triggered by empathy and driven by compassion. (source heroic inagination.org)

Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.  In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection.  (source wikipedia.org)

Compassion is also a virtue, one in which the emotional capacities of empathy and sympathy for others, are regarded as a part of love itself, and a cornerstone of greater social interconnectedness and humanism.  It is foundation to the highest principles in philosophy, society, and personally..  (source wikipedia.org)

What do you think the impact on society would be if these 'words' were 'lived in daily action' by more people?  I believe the impact would be less conflict and more PEACE in the world!
“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.” ~Dalai Lama

Christmas Prayers

"May Peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessing all year through!" ~Author Unknown
Amidst the giving of gifts, the excitement of children and the cooking of traditional dinners, it is easy to miss "the reason for the season", the birth of God's son, Jesus Christ. There are several ways of bring Jesus back into our family celebrations of Christmas, including church services. Here are a number of Christmas prayers for use at various stages of the day - these can be said by the family together, or silently in a moment aside from the rush.  For more prayers check out this website:  Prayer Guide.org

A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson
Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.

May the Christmas morning make us happy to be thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

God grant you the light in Christmas, which is faith;
the warmth of Christmas, which is love;
the radiance of Christmas, which is purity;
the righteousness of Christmas, which is justice;
the belief in Christmas, which is truth;
the all of Christmas, which is Christ.
