Half Full Friday & Aloha Friday weekly question

“Life is full of beauty.  Notice it.  Notice the bumble bee, the small child, and the smiling faces. Smell the rain, and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential, and fight for your dreams.” ~ Ashley Smith
Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009.  Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde.  We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day.  Are you?
"I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances."  ~Martha Washington
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
"He who enjoys doing and enjoys what he has done is happy." ~ Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
This is what I'm Happy for this week:
  • I'm happy my sons will all be home this coming week!
  • I'm happy that my youngest son is done with semester finals!  Very stressful and busy few weeks... for us both.  A.S. Parents, you know what I mean! ...'smiles'...
  • I'm happy my house is decorated and I'm ready for Christmas!
  • I'm happy for a wonderful time with friends this week!
  • I'm happy to have a home and a new furnace!
  • I'm happy I get 2 weeks off during Christmas and New Years!!  I love working for a college!!
"Remember that being a success without happiness is meaningless." ~Richard Denny -

It's also "ALOHA FRIDAY" Everyone!!  If you want to join in the fun? Post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life. Then you can visit the other participants if you wish...It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends or see what people are thinking about this week and join in a conversation or two if you like.
“We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.” ~Frederick Keonig
My question:  What 'thing' do you appreciate... especially this time of year?
My answer:  My little house that I can both afford to keep and afford to heat in the winter.
“I would rather be able to appreciate things I can not have.. than to have things I am not able to appreciate.” ~Elbert Hubbard

    Is your glass half full
    Or is it half empty
That depends on your point of view
Is the sky mainly cloudy or partly sunny
Look on the bright side in all you do
Look on the bright side and you can’t lose
