"Could we change our attitude, we should not only see life differently, but life itself would come to be different." ~Katherine MansfieldHalf Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009. Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day."Seek out that particular mental attribute which makes you feel most deeply and vitally alive, along with which comes the inner voice which says, "This is the real me," and when you have found that attitude, follow it." ~ William James
This is what I'm Happy for this week:"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes." ~William James
- I'm happy my oldest Son's next clinical rotation is in Iowa! We miss him terribly and get him for 3 months!
- I'm happy that same son got a job in Houston after graduation & that he will have some family close by!
- I'm happy my middle son had a nice birthday in Chicago & loved his gift!
- I'm happy & lucky my youngest son is so helpful & can fix things around the house! He is so smart and has lots of common sense!
- I'm happy for a great review at work! My first and only one in 4 years. I have 5 bosses and HR didn't seem to know 'who' I worked for. At least they paid me!!
" If you don't think every day is a good day, just try missing one." ~Cavett Robert

“You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.” ~ thinkexist.comMy question: What do you Love about yourself?
My answer: I love that I'm talkative, happy most of the time, passionate about subjects I believe in and life in general. I love my inner strength and compassionate towards others.
So what do You LOVE about Yourself?
"If you must love your neighbor as yourself, it is at least as fair to love yourself as your neighbor." ~Nicholas de ChamfortBlessings, Love & Many Hugs!

Thanks for a wonderful post, loved the things you are thankful for.
ReplyDeleteYvonne.
I am so glad that your sons are doing so well! What a blessing! Sometimes I wish my son was at home to fix things that have been languishing. But then I wouldn't have five gorgeous grandkids and a lovely DIL! Sigh! I happiest about them!!!
ReplyDeleteI love my compassion and my passion!!
Hugs
SueAnn

ReplyDeleteWhat I love about myself...I love that I'm always optimistic and my glass is always half-full. Life's too short to sweat the small stuff! ;)
Aloha: Shopping
I love that I have a select group that I enjoy sharing my thoughts with.
ReplyDeleteAnd you deserve all those things to be happy for. So many blessings. This time of year this is what we all need to stop and be thankful for, as simple as they can be, they are wonderful. Have a great weekend. Stay warm!

You sound happy and talkative, I am that way also! We could be alike sorta??
ReplyDeletekim
happy sons, happy mom! good for you!
ReplyDeleteand happy birthday to your middle son.
what i love about myself - my optimism, i guess! and that I am not easily influenced.
I love that I love others and I like to be an encouragement. Especially when I am down, I do more to encourage others than I do to make myself feel better.
ReplyDeleteHi Coreen, Great info on your sons and their lives... Thanks!!!!!! I'm thankful for all three of my sons also.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I love about myself???? THAT I have finally learned to love ME --even though I still need to lose weight. I always hated myself and allowed my weight to control everything about me. NOW--I know that I'm a good person, even with the extra baggage around my hips... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
I love that I'm sorta peer pressure proof. I don't get dragged into the various fleeting trends that pop up and whiz by.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't mean I"m not tempted, but I like to wait and then it no longer interests me....or the real effect shows through and I realize I would have made a mistake in getting or trusting that person.
Aloha!
Well, I think I have a real good sense of humor, am extremly sympathetic with people, and like to give and help others.
ReplyDeleteThe next to last quote is so beuatiful and so true, but I of course love all the quotes.;)
ReplyDeleteI guess I am happy with who I am, and who I have become through everything that I have gone through.
I guess my strongest attribute must be my undying optimism and the joy I take in simple pleasures.;))
Have a lovely weekend dear Coreen,
xoxo
What a great post! I love about myself that I like to learn new things.
ReplyDeleteSorry I didn't stop by sooner. I had a busy weekend and am very behind on blogs.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for always joining me in Half Full Friday! I had someone else join too but they didn't add their info to Mr. Linky.
Congrats on the great review! I never got one from my last job. I started in May 2008 and in January 2009, we got an email saying that no one would be getting a raise. I got fired in October of that same year. I guess because they knew they wouldn't be giving raises, they didn't feel it was necessary to do evalutions?!
