Hi there! Friday following (a day late)!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting news clip.
ReplyDeleteCame over from Friday Follow. Very nice to meet you.
I'm curious to know your thoughts on the link you posted. I have a child with autism.
ReplyDeleteI'm a day late, but I found you through Friday Follow! Great blog, I'm now a Google Friend Connect Follower! :)
Visiting from My Kids Are Fun!
Thanks to all of you! My youngest son has Asperger Syndrome. I have fought to get him services and the care he needs. I've been told for the last 8 years that Asperger Syndrome, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, 'falls through the cracks'. It has been very frustrating becuase if he had full Autism, there would be a lot more services available. I refused to accept that and have managed to get some 'rewording' done by caseworkers to get him a mentor and summer jobs. I am still fighting for more though! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm your newest follower from Friday Follow!
ReplyDeleteI have a 5yo son with Classic Autism...and I have to say, even getting services for him has been hard at times. We pay a private speech therapist out-of-pocket because they won't pay for it. But, she is solely responsible for getting him to say his first word at 3 years 3 months old! He said "Mommy"..it was unbelievable! Good for you for fighting for your son! We've been fighting ever since he was dx'd at 18 months old...and will continue to fight for him for as long as we need to!
I'd love for you to come visit me! I don't post alot about Autism, but I do post some crafts/learning activities that I make for him. I have a 'frugal living' blog :) In my "about me" section, there is a little about him...and I reference Autism on occasion.
Hope to see you soon! Have a great weekend!
