Life is too short Not to be Happy now!

"As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn't do." ~Zachary Scott

"Begin doing what you want to do now. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand, and melting like a snowflake." ~Marie Ray
I'm taking a break this week from my usual 'Half Full Friday' post.  Although I am personally doing well, it has been a very sad and tragic week in our metro area.  First was a school shooting yesterday resulting in the death of an assistant principle who helped so many young people.  Her 59 birthday would have been today and 100's of former and current students came out today to pray together and to sing her 'Happy Birthday'.  What a tribute in spite of such a tragic, senseless situation.

Then this morning a young man was critically injured in a horrible accident while working with the railroad.  I haven't heard what his current status is, but I am praying for him, his family and whoever's mistake caused the accident.  So sad for everyone involved, all the way around!

Finally, there was yet another senseless shooting this afternoon in which an man was killed for no apparent reason.  Again... so tragic, senseless and incredibly sad for the families involved.

All of these recent events have lead me to think about my own life and the lives of those I care about more than ever.  I've been thinking about those of us who 'wait'.  'Wait' to call someone they want to... for whatever 'good' reason they have.  'Wait' to tell those they care about... how they feel.  'Wait' to see the people that they care about. 'Wait' to be Happy... to be Loved... to do what their hearts are tugging them to do.

The sudden deaths of people we know personally and those we hear about on the news, should remind us all that life is very short... too short not to follow our hearts and find amazing happiness 'Right Now'!  Happiness that we all deserve!

So if you miss someone... call them.  If you want a hug from someone... go see them.  If you wonder how someone feels... ask them.  And above all.... if you love or care about someone... tell them... today!  Because none of us are guaranteed tomorrow or even a second chance.  Only the chances and opportunities we have right now... this very day, at this very moment.  Think about it and above all... follow your Heart and be Happy... today! :-)

Some Interludes of Life:
"This is dedicated to my wonderful friends and family who enrich my life with the treasure of their being.  May your soul decisions always be made with your heart, and not with your head."

There are moments in life when you really miss someone that you want to pick them up from your dreams and hug them. Hope you dream of that someone.

Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want in life.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But we often took so long at the closed door, that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

A careless word may kindle a strife; A cruel word may wreck a life; A timely word may level stress; A lovely word may heal and bless.

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along the way.

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to be grateful for that gift.

It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone special.

It's OK not to say goodbye... if you really don't want to.  It's also OK to leave the door open... if you want to.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched and those who have tried. For only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.

Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been betrayed, need to love those who still love, even though they've been hurt before.

It hurts to love someone, and not to be loved in return but what is most painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back. Don't expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

There are things you love to hear but you haven't yet.  And there are things you'd like to say but you haven't yet.  Say what you need to say first... and maybe, just maybe you'll hear what you want back.  Either way, you'll feel better being honest and speaking from your 'heart'.

  1. Hi Coreen, I am so very very sorry for what all has happened in your area. I know how sad that must be. Life is so precious--and none of us knows how long we are going to be on this earth. We do need to make the BEST of every minute we have. Your advice and thoughts are wonderful... Thanks so much!!!
    Hugs and PRAYERS,

  2. Goodness, where do you live, anyway? Somewhere in the midwest, I think. But things are becoming so bad everywhere! These school shootings, gosh, they were never heard of in my day, but of course I'm old. How awful, I'm so sorry about this discouraging week. So many of us spend so much of our time waiting, don't you think? One of my family was always talking about WHEN...and when she had to go aomewhere, she couldn't wait to leave, then when she got there, she couldn't wait to go home. I sometimes wonder if she ever really enjoyed the moment. She surely spent most of her moments waiting.

  3. Coreen a touching heartbreaking post. Thank you for sharing. Blessings.

  4. Beautiful post and oh so true!! Now is not the time for is a time for dreams to come true. To do those things one has been putting off. Time to move forward and embrace life with all your heart!!
