"The art of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing happiness to change its form without being disappointed by the change; happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up." ~Charles L. MorganHalf Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009. Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?
"If a person isn't thankful for what he's got, he isn't likely to be thankful for what he's going to get." ~Frank A. ClarkFor the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
I'm Happy and Thankful for many things; including some special honors this week:
- The Awesome compliment from my friend, William, on his Promotion Blog! Thank you, Willaim! :-)
- Shanae Branham from Triumph and Tears for featuring my post Silencing the Violence of Verbal Abuse; entering it in her blog contest. Thank you, Shanae! :-)
- For another gracious and thoughtful award from my very good friend, Jules from Trying to Get Over the Rainbow! Thank you, Jules! :-)

"Happiness is the feeling you're feeling when you want to keep feeling it." ~Author UnknownMy question: What do you do to 'create' some happiness?
My answer: Whether it's inviting people to dinner, having a cook out or hosting a 'game' night... I'm always happy to have company!

I think my default is content and happy! But other feelings do find me on occasion, but I don't tend to linger there too long!
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't go hunting for it, I just let the random fleeting moments happen, then bask in them! When I try to be happy, it rarely works, it seems to need to come to me of it's own free will. Kinda like love.
ReplyDeleteusually it involves something that will cause a mess and get me and the boys in trouble...smiles.
ReplyDeletewas great to see you over at shanae's!
Hi Coreen, We are back after a few days in Georgia celebrating G's birthday... Had a marvelous time... I'll be blogging about it soon.
ReplyDeleteIn order to 'create' some happiness---we visit waterfalls. This week we saw some fabulous ones --especially after alot of rain!!!!!!
BUT--we came home to find snow here... Yipes---ole man winter is not finished with us yet.... Darn!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
Yvonne.
Happy Friday dear Coreen.;))
ReplyDeleteHappiness is not often something I create, it is usually something that happens when everything within me and around me seems right.;)I believe happiness is an attitude and a state of mind.;))
Have a lovely weekend,
xoxo

I surround my self with people I love to create happiness!
ReplyDeleteI create happiness for myself when I blog and facebook. It's my outlet, my adult interaction, and my way to create and re-claim friendships.
ReplyDeleteI believe happiness comes to us in the simplest of forms; a smile, a touch, a kind word...
ReplyDeleteGame night, how long will it take me to get there :)

I'm usually happy I think, but if I'm not I'll play music. Before that I used to draw/sketch and it was good to focus and then be delighted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I play with my kids. They do something to pull the giggle out of your belly :)
Or I talk to my friend and we end up having moments that are just great and you know, you do have a true friend.
Oh the happy comes in so many forms :)
Have some and enjoy your weekend :)

ReplyDeleteI create happiness by being optimistic. Seeing small things as blessings.
Have a great weekend my friend!
I have to really work to create happiness because I'm a worrier by nature :-) I find giving myself some time to just sit down and read quietly makes me happier -- well, that and eating chocolate :-) And now that it's spring, getting out into the garden and playing in the dirt really makes me happy too!
ReplyDeleteHappiness is a state of mind. We are happy because we want to be!
ReplyDeleteHappy Aloha Friday!
Coreen - as usually I love the premise of this Friday meme. It is so true.
