"The more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his life will be." ~Horace Bushnell

Inspiration is an inspiring or animating action or influence; something inspired, as an idea; a result of inspired activity; a thing, place, scene or a person that inspires us.
Inspiration can be like a stimulation or arousal of the mind, feelings, etc, to a special or unusual activity of creativity... such as drawing, painting or writing.
“Enthusiasm is excitement with inspiration, motivation, and a pinch of creativity.” ~ Bo BennettI know I could not write without inspiration. That is why sometimes I write several post one week and only one or two the next. It depends on my 'inspiriation' more than anything else... although time does influence how often I can be on-line.
Some of my post are first hand-written on the back of a receipt or any paper in my purse. Because an 'inspiration' or idea has come to mind or literally 'hit' me. Usually I write what my 'intuition' tells me to, a personal experience or something I just witnessed.
I can not just start writing or typing, making things up as I go. I personally need to be inspired, listening to my intuition, gut or whatever one wants to call it. When I'm in that 'Inspiration Zone' if you will... I have to write about it right then. I feel that this is when I write my most powerful post.
How about you my blogging friends? I'm sure most of you all write from 'inspiration' as well. Do you have to be 'inspired' in order to write? Who or what inspires you? How soon do you need to start writing?
"My inspiration lies in making myself the best person I can be." ~Aras Baskauskas
Well, everyone is different. I love writing and I love words, so I like to write at any time. I get inspired by seeing things and taking pictures of them, also bible studies and verses. Now I do need to make notes on my thoughts so I don't forget them, Because I have so much to say that I have dozens of posts backed up.
ReplyDeleteUsually, when I get an idea for a post, I am nowhere near a computer. I simply make a mental note of it along with some thoughts about what I want to say. I might make a handwritten note as a reminder, but when I get to the computer, I will start a draft post on the topic.
ReplyDeleteInspiration for writing can come from anything, anywhere at any time. It can be a simple as seeing something that gives me an idea, to something that happens in my life. When and how soon I write and post the article depends on how strongly I feel about it. Although I have strong feelings about my most recent post, I've had the desire to write about it for a long time. It was a short time ago that I decided it was time to put it on display.
My inspiration comes from seeing other inspiring art works...drawings, paintings, sculptures!! Also from sounds...nature, cool new music genres, poetry!!
ReplyDeleteThen it has to gel within me for a time until I synthesize is all together and come up with ideas of my own..then I begin to work!!
Hugs

It's the simplest things that inspire me, I have an idea, think what I am going to write then forget it by the time I can write it down.
ReplyDeleteBut it do come back, not quite as before.
Yvonne.
Ah yes, inspiration. I can make things up as I go but generally I must use my gut, as you put it.
ReplyDeleteBTW, welcome back Coreen! :)

I have a variety of notebooks and pads at my desk, but lose a few ideas because I didn't write them down.I see stories everywhere I go and when I meet people. When I write about a particular family I share hardcopy back to them. One lady had it framed which really boosted my ego for days.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you liked my barn photos. Each is a palace to me, I too have played in many and treasured the experience. They allowed a lot of imagination to run wild, as well as the wild kids running in them burning off all that energy.Even sitting empty I still hear the laughter within.
I carry a notebook with me all the time and jot down notes. I love all the surprising places inspiration comes from! It's always a joy and a surprise.
ReplyDeleteI love your blogs so write them as you can!
ReplyDeleteFor me I am always thinking and reading and saving articles - and I see so many things on the internet - some times I feel I write too much.

Just getting out in nature inspires me.... I have never been one to have nothing to say!!!!! ha ha ...... I also read what others have done or said --and that inspires me also. Blogs which are full of inspiration are my fav's.... They pump me up!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am constantly thinking of good blog topics... I like variety ---and would get bored if my blog was the same thing, over and over....
I think it takes an enthusiastic person to blog well. Sometimes, it's not the words --but the attitude.
Hugs,
Betsy
Nothing in particular inspires me. But I know when I am inspired I can compose well and fast without too much editing. Bloggers around also serves as inspiration. The way they manage and love their life awes me so much.
ReplyDeleteMy posts were also first handwritten. I always take a small notebook with me where ever I go and jot down the ideas that I encounter or something which pops up on my mind.
YOU are an inspiration to me xxx have a great week xx
ReplyDeleteI am with you dear Coreen, my inspiration comes and goes. Often I ponder a thought for a while, sometimes days, sometimes weeks. It can be something that I experienced, a revelation that came to me all of a sudden or a contemplation that gains hold first as a fleeting thought and then becomes almost a set of beliefs.;)
ReplyDeleteI do not write it down immediately, but first as soon as it starts to make sense. Then again, not everything I write gets to be shared, only when I feel it is ready and meaningful.;)
Then as you know I also post simple posts that contain my photography - those are written as soon as the photos are taken.;)
On another note - thank you so much for your heartfelt and touching comment on my post yesterday - your kind words mean the world to me.
xoxo
