The Department of Transportation has asked American bloggers to spotlight the critical importance of staying sober behind the wheel this Independence Day. You all know how important this subject is to me.
Stay Sober. Stay Alive.
Our Freedom was not fought for so we can break the law.
1. Simply pledge your driving sobriety this Independence Day by noting your blog URL and blog name.
2. At the bottom of this “Blog Hop” you will see text in which you can grab the code for this McLinky. Simply click the link and copy and paste the code into your very own blog post’s HTML section. Then click “compose” and copy and paste this pledge, adding your own message to the top as I did above. Copy the pledge from “together we can stay alive” above.
3. Follow the host Hollywood Chic [-first on the linky-] of this Independence Day Pledge for more information on the Department of Transportation, Buzz Driving, and Stats.
This is a Blog Hop! ... you're next!
amen. lost a friend years ago on july 4th weekend because of a drunk driver...
ReplyDeleteWe lost a good friend & her son to a drunk driver many summers ago. Horribly Sad!
ReplyDeleteI'll go one further - I promise I won't leave the house this weekend!
ReplyDeleteHow about staying sober behind the wheel always? I know three people personally who have been killed by drunk drivers. :(
ReplyDeleteI am trying to do this blog hop, correctly. I could not get it, to let me, do the reason??
ReplyDeletekim
I agree, Heather! I just wanted to be a part of this Blog Hop to get people the message!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot being American I can't sign the pledge,
ReplyDeleteI don't drink anyway, but I do wish all who have signed the best of luck.
Yvonne,
here here I think it should be zero tolerance no drinking at all, that way no one is under any illusions, great post xxx
ReplyDeleteI had someone call to remind me to buckle up this weekend but he didn't say anything about not drinking and driving which surprised me. It was some guy calling to collect money for a charity.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. Good for all you guys. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and for you kind comments! ^_^ I am following back!
ReplyDeleteBoy this is a great topic Coreen...I have lost TWO family members to drinking and driving....It is a great shout out...and hopefully it will save someone's life, people will think twice.

:) as usual...a sensitive and educated post...!! :)i love your energy and commitment !
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY! WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL! I am always scared of what might happen to my innocent family when drunk driver is on the road. Thanks for spotlighting this
ReplyDeleteFabulous idea! I have friends who think they are okay to drive after a few drinks. I don't know how many times I'll have to tell them "If you plan to drink, don't plan to drive!"
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back!
AMEN!!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone takes this pledge and follows through with it! There is no excuse for drunk driving. If you are willing to take your life in your hands, fine, jump off a bridge or something, but dont take everyone elses life in your hands by getting behind the wheel drunk.
ReplyDeletesix yrs ago on the 4th of July a 2 yr old little girl was thrown from a car in my small town after a drunk driver hit her fathers car. She was decapitated. An image that my nursing career will never forget.
