To This, I Pledge

The Department of Transportation has asked American bloggers to spotlight the critical importance of staying sober behind the wheel this Independence Day. You all know how important this subject is to me.

Stay Sober. Stay Alive.
Our Freedom was not fought for so we can break the law.

1. Simply pledge your driving sobriety this Independence Day by noting your blog URL and blog name.

2. At the bottom of this “Blog Hop” you will see text in which you can grab the code for this McLinky. Simply click the link and copy and paste the code into your very own blog post’s HTML section. Then click “compose” and copy and paste this pledge, adding your own message to the top as I did above. Copy the pledge from “together we can stay alive” above.

3. Follow the host Hollywood Chic [-first on the linky-] of this Independence Day Pledge for more information on the Department of Transportation, Buzz Driving, and Stats.

This is a Blog Hop! ... you're next!

  9. I had someone call to remind me to buckle up this weekend but he didn't say anything about not drinking and driving which surprised me. It was some guy calling to collect money for a charity.

  16. Fabulous idea! I have friends who think they are okay to drive after a few drinks. I don't know how many times I'll have to tell them "If you plan to drink, don't plan to drive!"

    Following you back!

  17. I hope everyone takes this pledge and follows through with it! There is no excuse for drunk driving. If you are willing to take your life in your hands, fine, jump off a bridge or something, but dont take everyone elses life in your hands by getting behind the wheel drunk.

six yrs ago on the 4th of July a 2 yr old little girl was thrown from a car in my small town after a drunk driver hit her fathers car. She was decapitated. An image that my nursing career will never forget.
