“When you express your gratitude, you will bring joy to others’ lives. When others know joy, your life will be filled with happiness.” ~ Arthur DobrinHalf Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009.We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?
"We tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." ~Frederick KeonigFor the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
This is what I'm Happy for this week: Special Edition, because it was quite a Special week!"Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open." ~John Barrymore

"Our chief want is someone who will inspire us to be what we know we could be.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
My question: What or Who has inspired you?
My answer: I was inspired by a person I met who was passionate about their career. Truly loved their job. Seeing someone with a positive attitude and outlook, inspired me to find my passions in life.
“To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.” ~Tony DorsettI hope I inspire my followers at least a fraction of how much you ALL inspire me! I love you all!

wow. that is a huge question...prob the biggest is Pat and old boss...tough as nails but she cared...and those that worked hard got promoted...
ReplyDeleteCoreen, you deserve all those recognition and more!
ReplyDeleteMy inspiration - so many to mention: my mother, my sister, my hubby, my babies, some friends, including blogging friends - each one of them have inspired me in different ways at different states of my life and I'm forever grateful for them.
I had to really think about your question this week... I finally came up with two names. The first was my female band director when I was in high school. She was fantastic --and helped give me my love for music--which has been with me to this day. The other person was my boss when I worked in Texas. He helped me make some changes in my life which were very positive for me. He is a great friend to this day.
ReplyDeleteAnother great post, Coreen.
Hugs,
Betsy
I am back from sick leave feeling much better and missed everyone! You sure deserve all the great accolades you have been getting! Congradulations!! A lot of people inspire me, and I try and learn the best characteristics from everyone I know. Especially two of my previous pastors.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining me, as always! The linky is up, but of course won't get much traffic with my current settings. Really hoping to change that soon. It sounds like you had a fabulous week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention very much appreciated.

A post I need to ponder for a bit. Thank you for sharing dear one. Blessings.

Mother Nature influences me and all the people who reflect back to me on my thoughts and ideas.I alway have said if you do something good it comes back twofold. In your heart and the hearts of others.

ReplyDeletekim
Aww, I made your happy list! :) I feel so special now! I can't imagine how I could have possibly taught you anything about blogging or life but that's very sweet of you to say so.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until your book is published. I just know it'll be a literary success and you'll rake in tons of $$$ from it.
Congrats on the award, you deserve it and many more too!
I had an old boss inspire me. I'm pretty sure i blogged about it. My boss and I weren't close, we just had a typical boss/employee type of relationship, I guess. One day I mentioned to her that I wanted to apply for another position within the company. She went the extra mile for me, researching the department, finding out all she could about the job, etc. She even did a mock interview session with me. I got the job. I asked her why she did all that for me and she said because she didn't want me to ever think that working there was the best I could do.
Oooh! I love the idea of 'Half Full' - my cup always has and always be 'half full'... ;)
ReplyDeleteMy mom has always been a great inspiration to me. Her everlasting patience and quiet strength are truly inspiring.

My greatest inspiration in life has been Marilyn. She was my associates pastor's wife. He passed away suddenly on Easter morning in 98. It was after that that I really got to know her as something other than the pastor's wife. She is like a mom to me because during my high school years I had a horrible relationship with my mom. Marilyn was there for me when my parent's divorced and moved in with her for a time, she was there for me in college when my best friend was killed in a car accident - she's always there and inspired me to go to the college I went to and to major in Children's Ministry, which I loved thanks to her.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for the reminder to remember the good things
ReplyDeleteI can think of no one more deserving of these super awards, Coreen, and yes, you are a very inspiring force to anyone who is lucky enough to drift in here!
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful English teacher, Christine Brown, who, although I last saw when I was only 13, has proved an enduring inspiration throughout my life. I wish every child had a Christine Brown enter their life!
Happy Weekend.
Came back for another read......
ReplyDeleteThese Friday posts are so wonderful to read as many people find so much to be thankful for.;)
ReplyDeleteMy inspiration comes from many sources; many people entice me with the way they view and live their lives.
Have a lovely Sunday,
xo
I am thoroughly impressed! Wow. Just look at that string of awards! That's awesome!
ReplyDeleteI can't think of any one person. But I am inspired by little things that I see everyday people do every day. Whenever someone says or does something that seems especially good and uplifting it always helps me to become a better person. I truly admire people who have their acts together, who are kind, who are talented. I hope that isn't a cop-out answer!
