- I'm down to earth, caring, very social and 'real'! I have Character with deeply held beliefs and do what I feel is right. I love my sons (family) more than anything in this world! I'm an Advocate for Asperger Children; their Education & Rights. I'm an Independent Contractor certified in presenting '8 to Great', a '40 Developmental Assets' Champion and love working with kids. I'm also a Conservative Christian equally passionate about saving the future of our Country for all our Children. Having been through a lot in my my own life; I’m passionate about helping people. I'm determined to see the positives by learning from every experience; improving my own self and life by accepting, growing and moving forward. Jean explains and makes some great points. I love that suggestion to offer to help a parent instead of judging and staring. I have done the a hand full of times the last 2 years when I recognized Asperger children and the parents were all so relieved to be understood and the offer of help. I would of loved knowing AS parents years ago, but I didn't and help very isolated and helpless at times. Do what you would like someone to do for you, if the situation were reversed! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of times we as mothers think others are staring and judging, when really they are thinking with sympathy, or remembering their own children. I am sure I am guilty of it. I don't know the symptoms of autism or Asperger, but I think it is great advice to offer to help a mother with a child who is being difficult instead of standing by and wishing her the help I am not giving. Thanks for the reminder.
