Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009. Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?"A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change." ~Author Unknown
“The are of living does not consist in preserving and clinging to a particular mode of happiness, but in allowing happiness to change its form without being disappointed by the change; happiness, like a child, must be allowed to grow up." ~Charles L. Morgan
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
For feeling better today!
- For heat, blankets and diet 7-up! :-)
- For a new friend to talk to!
- For having someone check on me this week!!.
- For the help decorating my home.
- For a son's birthday this weekend!
- For understanding the process and lessons.
- For my outlook and strength.
For changing my direction and getting things done.
"If you focus on results, you will never change. If you focus on change, you will get results." ~Jack Dixon
It's also "ALOHA FRIDAY" Everyone!! If you want to join in the fun? Post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life. Then you can visit the other participants if you wish...It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends or see what people are thinking about this week and join in a conversation or two if you like.
My question: Have you ever tried to change or re-direct someone? Most of us have; so share what how you have helped and what you have learned."Consider how hard it is to change yourself and you’ll understand what little chance you have in trying to change others." ~Jacob M. Braude
My answer: I certain have more than once. Not in a manipulative way; but because I truly wanted to help them in some way, because I could see their pain, loneliness or strife. I have this uncontrollable desire to help lead others to peach and happiness.
However most of us know that we can only lead, encourage and support. We can't change anyone or another's situation or life. Only we can change or redirect our own lives. However, we 'can' open the doors. ;-)

Sorry you've been sick! That's a bummer. Least you got better in time for your son's birthday. And changing someone? My wife taught me real quick - that's just not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteI have tried to encourage and support but change? No! It never works! People don't want to change if they can help it! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI know...I find myself not wanting to change as well!
Glad you are on the mend
Hugs
