Half Full Friday is a series of weekly posts that Eye Girl originally started in June 2009. Now the it is hosted by Sprinkles at Wyldechylde. We believe that a lot of our happiness is determined by our attitude about the things that happen to us. So by participating, we are deciding to see the glass as half full, instead of half empty. We are choosing to concentrate on the positives, instead of dwelling on the negatives. Our Half Full Friday posts are a way to do just that. They are a list of the things in our life that have brought us happiness over the past week. We are determined to find the something good in every day. Are you?“You can close the windows and darken your room, or you can open the windows and let light in. It is a matter of choice. Your mind is your room. Do you darken it or do you fill it with light?” ~SuccessConsciousness.com
"Positive thinking is expecting, talking and visualizing with certainty what you want to achieve, as an accomplished fact." ~Unknown
For the next week, we challenge you to keep a list of at least one thing that brought you happiness each day.
I'm Happy and Thankful for many things every day... especially this week:
For a good transition week!
- For seeing old & new friends!
- For my new job starting soon!
- For my old job lasting until then!
- For attending an Iowa Caucus! It's exciting to participate!
- For X-rays that show a great recovery!
- For beautiful weather again this week!
- For keeping positive energy around me!
For the new adventures ahead of me!!
"Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions." ~Unknown
It's also "ALOHA FRIDAY" Everyone!! If you want to join in the fun? Post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the Aloha Friday post at An Island Life. Then you can visit the other participants if you wish...It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends or see what people are thinking about this week and join in a conversation or two if you like.
My question: Can you 'feel' both positive and negative energy with some of the people you encounter each day!“Instead of thinking about what you're missing, try thinking about what you have that everyone else is missing.” ~Unknown
"For myself I am an optimist - it doesn't seem to be much use being anything else." ~Winston Churchill
My answer: I absolutely can, and quite often. I try to stay away from the negative energy when I feel it or if I can't, I try to change that energy by saying or doing something positive; because it can bring us down and effect our own moods much of the time.
“Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you'll start having positive results." ~Willie NelsonHave a wonderful weekend, everyone!!

Good news on the X-rays! And I like that unknown quote. It's not what we can do for ourselves - what gifts do we have that would enrich others?
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your new job Coreen ~ you will be great!
ReplyDeleteHooray for good X-rays!

A caucus? Oh yeah I heard about that. :) One of the things I want to rid myself of this year is negative people. 2012, the year of smiles. :D

I always love your list of happy! :)
ReplyDeleteYes I can - like you, I try to stay away from the negative. And since I'm an eternal optimist, I also attempt to turn the negative into a positive - sometimes it works, and sometimes there are those who live to be negative. ;) Happy New Year Coreen! :)

I love this idea Coreen...looking for the good in everything. Love your list. Happy rest of the day....
ReplyDeleteYes, I can. I think it's easy to pick up on another's energy.
ReplyDeleteHi Coreen,
ReplyDeleteInteresting that I stumbled to your website. I have recently been looking at some amazing videos of young people with Asperger Syndrome... and Jesus put it on my heart to be more thankful, and the tell others about the good things He has done for me.
My New Years Resolutions are:
1. to be a better listener
2. to be thankful, and tell others about the good things God has done for me personally
and after talking with my manager at work ((blushing)) to check my work email every day.
It isn't in my natural habit pattern to do any of the above so I continue to pray for Jesus to guide me and strengthen me on that :) When I cannot, He can :D
Oh, and THANKS for following my blog :)

You know, I wouldn't mind attending a caucus some time! Just to say that I've been to one. Plus with minoring in PoliSci, I'm curious about what it must be like.
ReplyDeleteCaucus was fun, I loved the J Paul people on the corner her.
ReplyDeleteGreat post Coreen. And excellent optimistic quotes!
