In '8 to Great', motivational speaker for positive change MK Mueller writes this to describe Highway 1: Get the Picture
Visualizing the outcome until it feels good is the first step to any dream or goal. Once you’re clear on your destination, keep thinking about it until you can get excited by what it will be like. Then, from that good-feeling place, the next step will reveal itself as surely as the next yellow brick showed up on Dorothy’s road to Oz. Visualize yourself getting the diploma, driving the new car, or laughing with loved ones. It’ll take you straight to “95” on the Power Pyramid. ~ MK Mueller
Many times we say we want something so badly. Getting that great job; going on the vacation or winning a sporting event. However, have you ever noticed that if you can't 'picture' yourself in those situations or 'crossing the finish line', then it doesn't happen. We have to picture what we want in our mind, to the point of 'feeling' it!
I kept saying that I wanted to sell my house. I cleaned and painted..... nothing, no offers! Then someone asked me at an '8 to Great' training if I had 'pictured' a 'SOLD" sign in my yard. Well, no I hadn't. So did I really want to sell my house or had I not put the right 'picture; in my head and heart. It was the second answer."Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." ~ Henry David Thoreau
I've said I wanted a Great man to come into my life. However, until I could actually 'pictured' myself with a Great guy, in a Great relationship, being treated Great.... I kept getting asked out by 'not so great' men. Not anymore!
I believe that because of my changes in myself over the last 2 years, I don't attract the 'not so great' types anymore. Which is 'Great' with me!
Next time when you say you want something, picture it to the point of 'feeling' like it has already happened or been achieved. Try it, then see your 'dreams' come true.
What Dream can You Picture?
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams". I love that! And I will!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are too!!

great post. saying and not moving or doing something about a fear is saying "not ready".To step out of normal self and take a chance.
ReplyDeleteI believe in the power of positive attitude over things that you want so let our mind work and believe it would happen.
ReplyDeleteHi, Right now I just dream (and hope) for good health for many more years... I never expected to have health problems --until my knee problem happened. That really took me aback---if you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteI also never dreamed that I would meet the 'man in my dreams' after my divorce. I was a workaholic --and didn't much think about it when I was younger. BUT--as I started getting older, I yearned for a companion in my life. AND---thanks be to God, I found him.... That is definitely a dream come true.
Hugs,
Betsy
CONFIDENCE IS A GREAT APTITUDE AND I THINK YOU HAVE THIS IN ABUNDANCE XXX

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! This is a message I'm always trying to send in my posts as well...we must always think positively and visualize our dreams so they become a reality. Thanks for sharing : )
ReplyDeleteGreat post and words I try to live my life by. I pictured myself an author right down to the release party and the outfit I will wear..the power of positive thinking works!
ReplyDeletePlease stop by my blog when you have a chance I have an award for you!
I do whole heartedly agree with that visual...I try my best. Except now I do not think of OPRAH in the equation...lol....I tried though! So sad your son moved, but I am betting for a great reason! It will be such a sad day for me as well when my boys leave the nest.

aah..now i see the secret behind things coming to me ..since childhood i have had a habit of focussing single mindedly on things (subconsciously) - i always KNEW i would win a competition, or own a particular thing or go to a particular place and voila!! they would be true.. though i never imagined them but i feel there is a connect somewhere with what you are saying in the post !! cool...so after 34 yrs i have discovered why i would attract particular things to me ...beautiful post as usual ...
ReplyDeleteI've felt amazing reading this. I am visualizing getting work and making my patients happy now!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post, Coreen!
ReplyDeleteVisualization really works. It really does. :)
ReplyDeleteI too love, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams". I 've been thinking about following what I want...letting go of fear and taking a risk to live what I want...great post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Yours is really amazing and the concepts are so true. I really believe that people get in life exactly what they want..if they will do the necessary actions to achieve it. If I really wanted something bad enough I found a way to get it, achieve it, be it...my other fav thought: "Other people's opinion of you is none of your business..the only opinion of you that matters is your opinion of yourself" I'll be back to visit often, thanks for a neat new blog to follow!
ReplyDeleteNice post. I'm a believer in the power of positive thinking.
